Emi provides individual and group therapy in the following areas: children, adolescents, families, and adults, addressing the issues of major loss, grief and trauma, anger, stress, crisis management, conflict resolution and negotiation, self-esteem, depression, and physical and psychological aspects of disability.
Her practice of therapy is guided by the belief that no matter what happened, all persons have the ability to show resilience, to gather strength, and to learn new skills in order to improve their quality of life.
Corliss’ training and experience qualifies her to help her
clients address a variety of issues. Her specialties include couples’ and
family counseling, parenting support, and therapy for people who suffer from trauma such as PTSD, domestic violence, or abuse. She offers help to people with depression, anxiety, sleep problems, and stress.
Corliss frequently uses Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma.
She approaches life from a Judeo-Christian world and life view. In keeping with this view, she has a high regard for the spiritual and religious views of each person.
