About
I specialize in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and in solving painful, heartbreaking, devastating cases. Living through traumatic events may result in expectations of danger, betrayal, or potential harm within new or old relationships. Survivors may feel vulnerable and need clarification about what is safe. Therefore, trusting others, even those you previously trusted, may be challenging. It may feel frightening to get close to people for fear of being hurt in an unsafe world. When we conclude, you will see that building trust in old and new relationships is essential to healthy relationships after trauma.
I aim to help you understand how family, growth-related influences, and community resources help shape your reactions. I will help you identify manipulative, exploitative relations and unrealized choices made, and together, we will shape them into positive behaviors to meet your needs. The overall goal is to help you effectively solve problems.
I listen, validate, reflect, and simplify to help you see alternatives and new possibilities. In my practice, I assist you with interpretations of your feelings and brief descriptions of circumstances to help you develop realistic expectations.
