About
I am an MGH-affiliated psychologist with a private practice in Arlington, MA for adults and young adults. My specialties include managing stress; depression; anxiety (social anxiety, panic, generalized anxiety); relationship concerns; and coping with infertility, cancer, and other medical illnesses. I have also worked extensively with clients whose lives have been impacted by family members, partners, or others close to them who have personality disorders, depression, or other illnesses. My training and experience is in cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and most recently, mindfulness-based approaches. My practice would likely be a good fit if you prefer a warm, interactive style.
We can work short-term on a focused concern, or longer-term more comprehensively. I believe that therapy is about honoring your unique experiences and then bringing skills, knowledge, and compassion to empower you to live your best life now.
We might employ specific strategies to alleviate symptoms or manage a difficult situation. Alternatively, we may focus on thinking patterns that leave you prone to feeling overwhelmed, self-critical, angry, or stuck. The right therapist will be someone with whom you feel comfortable, seen, and most importantly, helped.
My current in-office availability is primarily during daytime hours. I do offer evening appointment times, which fill quickly. Secure video sessions, phone sessions, and secure chat sessions are also an option as an occasional adjunct or as a primary mode of treatment. Please check your health insurance to determine whether online sessions are a covered benefit. Prior to initiating online psychotherapy, we would meet in person for a few initial sessions to ensure that online sessions would be a good fit.
