About
My work has given me experience with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I have worked with depression, anxiety, addiction, loss and grief, abuse and trauma, and relationship conflict. I have also worked with issues around identity, particularly cultural identity and the challenges that can come from living in and feeling part of multiple cultural contexts.
I believe that our development as individuals is influenced by the interaction of our biology, our environment, and our own specific way of interpreting our world. Our work will take into account all of these influences.
While my theoretical approach is influenced by many theories as well as my experience as a therapist, my primary approach is based on ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and strongly influenced by what we are learning from Interpersonal Neurobiology and Polyvagal Theory.
