Qualifications: I earned a master’s in science degree in Social Administration, Major Field: Social Work. I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (ISW 13405) registered with the Department of Health Division of Medical Quality Assurance. My supervisor is Racquel N. Findlay, SW9202, Peace of Mind Assessment, Counseling and Consulting. Mrs. Findlay is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and my Board Approved Supervisor.
Counseling Relationship: I see counseling as a process in which you the client, and I, the Counselor Intern having come to understand and trust one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life, and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals.
Areas of Expertise: I focus on clients who have experienced relational trauma, childhood sexual abuse, relational challenges in the area of broken relationships, marital issues and family dysfunction. I have had worked with individuals, youth, women and families in crises, individuals affected by homelessness, individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, youth and families affected by foster care, and individuals within the LGBTQ communities. I specialize in couples and marital counseling, human sexuality counseling, youth, adolescence and adults affected by trauma, physical and sexual abuse.
Theoretical Frameworks: I enjoy using eclectic therapeutic frameworks that are trauma focused, cognitive, dialectical and psychoanalytical.
