About
I am a licensed psychologist and professor of psychology, providing short-term and long-term individual therapy to adults. I place an emphasis on relationships and interpersonal interactions as a source of insight into self. I also encourage practical, active efforts toward your achieving your counseling goals. You can expect me to listen with empathy and without negative judgment. My primary areas of expertise are anxiety disorders, depression, and substance abuse, though I am currently seeking clients who have primary concerns with anxiety. My areas of expertise in working with anxiety include social anxiety, panic attacks, specific phobias, generalized anxiety, and adjustment issues.
In addition to anxiety disorders, I have frequently worked with clients who have concerns that tend to be present along with anxiety, which most often include relationship and interpersonal concerns, family relationships, self-esteem issues, alcohol abuse, marginalization, insomnia, procrastination, perfectionism, identity issues, and depressed mood.
I am currently only accepting clients for online therapy, using encrypted video software (face-to-face sessions are also available on an as-needed basis in the Chicago loop area). Please visit my website for a video introduction, more information about my approach, and to decide if internet-based therapy is right for you.
