Education
Dr. Chasson completed pre- and post-doctoral fellowships through Harvard Medical School at McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. He obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston and his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Dr. Chasson has received specialty clinical and research training in the assessment and treatment of OCSD and fear, worry, and anxiety. He provided CBT through the University of Houston’s Psychological Research and Services Center (PRSC) and Victims’ Resource Institute. He also completed a two-year externship with The Menninger Clinic’s treatment program for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), providing intensive CBT services to inpatients with severe, treatment refractory OCD and related conditions. While at The Menninger Clinic, Dr. Chasson also served as the program’s Research Coordinator.

During his training at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, Dr. Chasson worked as a CBT intern in the partial hospital day program, providing services to patients with severe psychopathology (e.g., psychosis, suicidality, mania) who were typically stepping down from inpatient hospitalization. In addition, he collaborated on OCD research with McLean Hospital’s OCD Institute.

After finishing his Ph.D., Dr. Chasson completed a two-year postdoctoral clinical and research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School with the OCD and Related Disorders Program. In addition to directing research, he provided outpatient CBT through the OCD Clinic, Body Dysmorphic Disorder Clinic, and Tic Disorders Clinic.

For the last 6 years, Dr. Chasson lived in Baltimore County, Maryland, where he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Towson University and spearheaded a research laboratory on the nature and treatment of obsessive-compulsive spectrum and autism spectrum conditions. He also owned and directed clinical services at CBT Solutions of Baltimore.

Dr. Chasson moved to the Chicago area in 2016 and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Illinois Institute of Technology, where he also directs a research laboratory called the Repetitive Experiences and Behavior Lab (REBL). Dr. Chasson is an active researcher, having authored dozens of scientific papers, delivered dozens of scholarly presentations, and garnered multiple awards, fellowships, and grants. In 2009 he was honored with the Career Development Travel Award from Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and in 2006 he received both the Manuel Ramirez Dissertation Award from the Texas Psychological Association and the Outstanding and Ethical Records Award from the PRSC.
