Education
Born and raised in Georgia, Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (minor in Criminology) at the University of West Georgia. In this time Michelle worked at an outpatient facility that assisted those with moderate to more severe disorders. While Michelle learned much there, she decided that she needed more sunshine in her life and moved to Orlando to pursue her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Central Florida (CACREP accredited), where she also obtained a certificate in Play Therapy. In this time Michelle presented on various topics at different conferences.
While in graduate school she worked with clients with a variety of presenting issues, concerns, disorders, and diagnoses. She also facilitated a group for adolescents regarding relationships and goals for the future at Timber Creek High School. She interned for a year at the Center for Drug Free Living as a counselor intern, where she counseled men diagnosed as HIV/AIDS positive, who also struggled with drug addiction, life management, and a variety of co-occuring disorders.
