About

Hello, my name is Stephanie and I would like to personally thank you for visiting the Soul Care Counseling and Consulting website. As a therapist with over 10 years of counseling related experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, I look forward to working with you on your journey. My mission is to provide you with the highest level of care to assist you in increasing your quality of life by addressing your emotional and mental health needs.

In this fast paced world, it is easy to get over stressed and over worked as the demands of life can become quite overwhelming. For some, experiences from the past cause complications that make it difficult to focus on the present moment. I am experienced in treating chronic stress, anxiety, phobias, panic disorders, depression, and PTSD, regardless of the source. I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach to focus on learning relaxation skills, learning how to mange intense emotions, and challenging some of the unhelpful thinking styles that are a result of the challenges in life.

I currently have ten years of counseling related experience, including my internship during graduate school. During my internship at a crisis center, I provided Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address domestic violence abuse, sexual assault, and various mental health concerns. During this time, I led women and adolescent groups. In the adolescent group, Dialectical Behavior Therapy was utilized to teach skills to adolescents to decrease symptoms. I then turned my focus to working with the adolescent population with severe emotional disturbance. Multi-systemic Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy was utilized to provide therapy services in the home for adolescents at risk for out of home placement. I worked in an agency providing evidence-based therapy to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to a diverse population to include children, adolescents and adults with an array of mental health needs. I have provided group therapy and individual substance abuse treatment to adults since June 2013.

I am rostered through North Carolina Child Treatment Program in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy since 6/5/2015. I am also through the North Carolina Child Treatment Program in Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) since 6/16/2016.
