Stephen F. Smith, Ed.M., LMHC, BC-TMH, owner and clinician for Vis-à-Vis Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. Vis-à-Vis Counseling & Consulting, PLLC, provides telemental health services for clients throughout Washington state. For over 2 decades Stephen has worked in the professional social services industry and has provided services as a mental health counselor, social worker, guidance counselor, vocational rehabilitation counselor and adjunct professor of psychology. He has worked in the private sector and for the county, state and federal governments. Stephen completed a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Central Washington University and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Washington State University. Stephen is licensed by the Washington State Department of Health to independently provide Mental Health Counseling services to the public in Washington state. Stephen is also a Board Certified Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMH) via the Center for Credentialing & Education, an affiliate of the National Board of Certified Counselors. Stephen specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, relationship issues and trauma for adults and couples. He has an eclectic orientation to treatment to include cognitive behavioral counseling, supportive/person-centered therapy and, as a Christian, is happy to provide biblical counseling to clients who are interested. As a Board Certified Telemental Health Provider, Stephen offers counseling to people who wish to receive it from the comfort of their own homes. He also offers evening appointments. In addition to Stephen's work and educational background and approaches to treatment, he is has been happily married for over 2 decades, has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Stephen enjoys spending time with his family, church and time outdoors, especially in the Spring and Summertime.
