About
I hold a MA in Mental Health Counseling and an EdS in Counselor Education from Southeast Missouri State University. I have experience with both inpatient counseling and outpatient working with a wide range of issues including but not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief /loss, difficult life experiences, stress, addiction, relationships, gender dysphoria, LGBTQ+, serious and persistent mental illness, performance enhancement, and self-harming behaviors. I specialize in ages 13 and up. I believe firmly in the power of radical acceptance. Whatever the experience may be...noticing, accepting, expressing, and finding true choice leads to deep change and empowerment.
Through the use of eclectic interventions, I am guided by the principle of the Carl Rogers' quote, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." I will accept you for who and where you are and honor you with no judgment.
I am EMDR trained at the EMDR Institute, observe the guidelines of Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling, am LGBTQ+ friendly, and a yoga teacher in training. I look forward to having the honor of walking with you as we move toward the fullest expression of yourself.
